We are home

I do not even know where to start with this post. We have gotten quite behind as our new home has kept us busy. I will do my best to recount the last 4 weeks in chronological order.
The money to pay for the house made it to our bank account on Friday, December 6th. We made a trip to the bank on Monday to get a cashier's check. It was raining so I ran inside the bank while Steve stayed in the truck with the kids. I have never written a check for this kind of money and was a little surprised that I could get the check myself without Steve. He has been warning other men that their wives can wipe out their bank accounts just like that.
Our closing was scheduled on for 10:30 AM the  next day. We made an appointment with the sellers to do our final inspection at 9 AM. They still had some items in the house and a large pile of stuff in the garage. Otherwise the homes were in the condition we expected them in . After the closing, the sellers said they needed a couple of hours to gather the rest of their belongings. They left the stuff in the garage and our agreement was that they would come back in two weeks to pick it up. We went to a restaurant to eat lunch and then we went back to the apartment to collect our belongings. We did not want to spend another night in the apartment so we brought just enough stuff to be able to sleep in the house (basically we brought our mattresses, some clothing and hygiene items). It was so nice to sleep in our home.

The day after we closed, we went to get a few items from the blue trailer. We stopped at the furniture store and picked up the love seat we ordered for our living room.
One unpleasant thing we found the day we moved in was a "no trespassing" sign facing our direction on a tree in our neighbor's yard. We thought it was a tad odd since the neighbors did not even know us and we have not had an opportunity to annoy them yet.
Even though it was only early December, every day was like Christmas. On Thursday, 12/12, our new washer and dryer were delivered. It is really nice to have a new washer and dryer but it is even better not to have to go to a laundromat.
Aside from moving in, I ordered some garlic for planting. December is late to plant garlic here (the recommended time for planting in our zone is October-November) but I figured that the worst that can happen is that it would not grow. I managed to plant three rows that day as it took a while to break up the soil, remove weeds and rocks. The soil here looks so wonderful compared to the sand we were dealing with in our old garden.

She also helped rake leaves on top of our garlic

It has only been 2 days in our home and our bodies are pretty sore. But we are happy to be home.
