We
took a day off today and spent time around mom’s apartment cleaning up and
washing laundry.

May 1st
is Labor Day in the Czech Republic. Since Vlada had a day off, we decided to
meet for lunch in the early afternoon in Hrebec. Hrebec is a small village near
Kladno. It was just a short walk through the woods on a dirt road. Mom rode her
electric wheel chair and Vlada and Blanka met us at the restaurant because they
rode their bikes. We had sausage, hot dogs, beer and soda for lunch. Hannah
hardly ate anything because she was too busy playing the on the playground.
Stevie went back between the playground and playing cards with Steve and Vlada.
It
looked like it would rain for a while but then the clouds cleared up. As we
walked back home, we could see darker clouds building up again. About 30
minutes after we got home, it started to rain.
The
trip may have been too much for mom. Her back is hurting from the bumpy dirt
road. Hopefully she will feel better soon.
