We
made another trip to the swimming pool. We like to go to the pool in the late
morning as the least expensive prices are valid up to 1 PM. When we finished
swimming, we planned to ride scooters in Sletiste but the kids were hungry (and
so was I). We drove to a restaurant just outside of Kladno on Kozova Hora. We
ate a big lunch and then drove home. We decided to park by Oaza so that the
kids could ride their scooters in the parking lot. However, as we were getting
out of the car, we heard thunder. It was also getting cold fast. We went home
instead.
It
was definitely a good decision to head indoors. Shortly after we got home, the
storm hit. There was thunder, lightning, hail and very heavy rain. I have never
seen weather like this in Kladno before. The sidewalks, roads and roofs were
white covered with hail. Even after the hail stopped, the hail took a long time
to melt. There were several inches of water on the road (it is a good thing mom
lives on the 4th floor – 5th floor in American terms).

Blanka
and Vlada invited us over for lunch. Blanka made a delicious meal with roasted
chicken, vegetables, French fries, dumplings, red cabbage and soup. She also
had snacks for after lunch. We really enjoyed the meal. It is also awesome that
Blanka makes good, from scratch meals that are good for us too. And we do not
have to worry about gluten and dairy, she makes sure there is plenty for Stevie
to eat.
We
played cards and talked the rest of the afternoon. Steve showed Vlada Youtube
videos he has been watching about Czech culture. They are made by a Czech guy
and have English sub titles. His commentary is right on.
We
took the bus home and the kids rode their scooters in the Oaza parking lot
while I went to get a couple of groceries. Stevie has been asking for some
pineapple (it is the one thing he can have than Hannah cannot eat).
When
we got home, Stevie helped Hannah get undressed, get on the potty (he wiped her
bottom) and then he got her to bed. He said that the walk was too long for her
and that she needed a rest. They are such an awesome pair.

We spent the day at home, resting, cleaning, doing laundry.
