Break out the cigar, get the matches ready

It is Sunday, October 13th, 2013.  We slept in until about 7:00 a.m. (kid time).  Got up, wrestled with the kids a bit and decided to check out a farm for sale over in Jonesborough.  Before leaving we Skyped with Babi for a while.  She was happy to see the kids and us on her new computer.  The experience was much better for her than on her old computer.  She was doing well and Kat filled her in on our progress so far.
After Skyping with Babi we headed over to the farm in Jonesborough.  When we got there we noticed that the soil in that area had huge rocks protruding out of it.  It also seemed like the city was moving in on the area with the amount of urban sprawl that was apparent everywhere.  So we regrouped and drove over the area of 19w.  We saw a nice small farm for sale there, called the number on the sign and left a message.  Still kind of bummed out about the not buying the property on Estep Hollow Road, we went to the Ingles grocery store with the intent of buying a lot of food that we could use for our meals while we were on the road looking at properties.  Even at McDonalds it was costing us about $24 for lunch and supper was running us about $45.

While in the parking lot of Ingles Kat noticed that we had missed a call from the owner (Bob) of the Estep Hollow property.  I called him and he counter offered down to $215.000 for the property and two houses.  Me and Kat talked about it for a while and decided to purchase the property and get our lives started in Tennessee.  Bob and I made a gentleman's agreement over the phone and both vowed to try to make the sell possible without lining the pockets of lawyers and others who feel it necessary to be financially involved in every aspect of our lives.  There may still be hope for mankind after all.  We have some research to do on how to buy the properties, transfer titles and pay all other required taxes.  The day started out as usual and ended on a high note.  We are excited and already making plans for the house, property and our future businesses, careers and ways to improve our cash flow.   In addition, Stevie, Hannah and I put the pedals back on Stevie's bicycle and he rode it today for the first time ever without training wheels.  Someday, he will be able to look at back in the moment of his personal history and relive that event as we got it on video.

First try without training wheels
