Wednesday and Thursday

Wednesday, October 9, was  regrouping day for us. We got organized in the morning and headed out in the afternoon. We went a picked up our mail from the post office (our first forwarded mail got here - hooray!). Afterwards we went to the storage place to get more items from the trailer. We needed to get the three boxes with our canned food so it would not freeze there. We also picked up our can opener and the safe with our papers we will need to get car registrations, etc. We also grabbed the bags with winter clothing. As we were leaving the storage, we saw a consignment store with children's clothing and bought pants and sweatshirts for Hannah.
After we dropped everything in the apartment, we went to the laundromat to do our weekly laundry. Steve and Stevie stayed at the laundromat while Hannah and I went to Walmart. Once the laundry was done, we made a quick stop at the grocery store for a few items that Walmart does not carry (like our gluten-free bread or coconut milk). We got home way after dark and went to bed early.
On Thursday, October 10, we got back to looking at properties. We started out by driving by the house on Sally Cove Creek Road, we drove by the first house we looked at on Simerly Creek Road and then decided to drive around to look for "for sale" signs.
We drove to Roan Mountain and all the way to the entrance to Roan Mountain State Park. We turned around and drove towards Unicoi through the back roads. We discovered a beautiful little community called Limestone Cove. We found several houses for sale but they were either too expensive or not what we were looking for. We drove all the way to Unicoi and then worked our way back home.
We saw a restaurant called Ole Barn that had a sign that they had live music on Friday evenings. We decided we would go there on Friday night for dinner.
The more we drive around this corner of Tennessee, the more we love it. The weather has been so nice. We had one rainy night and morning but since then it has been sunny again. Nicely cool at night in low 40s and blue skies and sunshine in the low to mid 60s during the day. We are enjoying not having to use the air conditioning. Both Steve and I have been sleeping like babies since we came up here. The air is fresher and just makes us sleep well.
