Our (Temporary) Home

Friday turned out to be another busy day. We had kind of a slow start and did not get out of the hotel until 9:30 AM. But by 10:30 AM we already had our apartment keys in hand, got the water and power turned on at the city hall and got cable internet connected. We had to go to Comcast to pick up our equipment (so we would not have to wait to have it shipped) and - amazingly - the service center is right next to the storage place where our trailer is parked. So we picked up our modem and then went next door to unload a few essentials to take to our apartment (primarily we needed our mattresses).
This is what the trailer looked like when we opened the door.
We were expecting things to fall out but apparently
we did a good job packing.
First load going to the apartment

After we unloaded, we played outside - this area is right behind our building.
Stevie loved running barefoot in the soft grass.
He ran a few miles today.
Yes, that little dot far away is Stevie.
You cannot miss Hannah looking all pretty in pink like a little flower.

After a nice break, we went back to the hotel and used their laundry facilities to wash our clothes and bedding. Once the laundry was done, we packed up most of our stuff and went back to the trailer to get our mattress. We have not checked out of the hotel yet because we did not feel like cleaning up and we did not have space for all of our stuff. We will come back on Saturday to pick up rest of our things.
The kids were happy to have their toys to play with and when we came to the apartment in the evening, they played very nicely. Stevie is handling all the changes really well. He is just happy to go with the flow. Although it was a bit challenging to keep him from jumping, running or talking too loud in the hotel. Hannah misses some of her things that we sold or gave away. She also misses her friend Madisen. We are hoping that having a bunch of her old toys and her old bed will make it all better.
We have prayed often about finding our future home/land.  All of the things that parents want for their kids have been in our thoughts and prayers as we research each property.  We even go on Google Earth to check out the satellite view and the street view if it has one.  Then we visit the property, talk with neighbors etc....  We must also consider to potential to have a "at home" business at the location we chose.  But one of the biggest factors to consider and the most challenging is what will the area be like in Stevie's and Hannah's future.  It seems that the more we progress in our world, the more corrupt and morally deficient our society becomes.  We can only protect our kids so much with our limited abilities, thus the prayers for guidance.
